Full Training Program

Seahorse Riding Club

Stars Hollow Farms, LLC, operating at Seahorse Riding Club, offers a full training program that creates an individualized program for each horse and rider combination.  Whether you want to specialize in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation or dabble a bit in each, show on the A circuit or just locally, or just work on your skills as a rider, our instructors will work with you to further your education about riding, horses and horse care.   We strive to create a complete rider

Our experienced instructors have won championships and finals from the local to the national levels.  Our students have a laundry list of accomplishments from gold medal teams for the jr young riders, top placings in medal finals, to year end champions at the local ETI horse shows.

But beyond that our program is also a wonderful place to find comraderie – many a lifelong friend has been made while riding here.  All our riders support each other during lessons and at all the shows, offering encouragement, giving helpful tips or learning by watching others, celebrating victories both small and large as well as helping each other through tough times. Sounds rather sappy I know  🙂 but really riding is a  complicated sport and it’s nice to have friends going through the same things and just enjoying the gift of riding.

Our lesson schedule includes two flat lessons (Tuesday and Saturday) with Tuesdays smaller groups working on position and rideability for the week.  Saturday “hacks” are large group lessons that work on a variety of things from more advanced flat work to doing pole excercises but mostly focusing on fun.  The Saturday hacks are very popular because it also works on riding in a large group so the horse shows are not so daunting, and riding in a large group is so much fun, with everyone supporting one another, learning from the others and just having friends working towards the same goals.

We also give 2 jumping lessons on Thursday, Friday and/or Sunday.  These lessons are usually 30 to 40 minutes of jumping, you warm up on your own on the flat and are usually a pair of riders at the most.   Then one day the trainers school the horses – usually Wednesdays to set them up for the week.
